Which level should I pick?
- Levels 1 and 2 are for beginners and kids: the computer makes real mistakes and leaves pieces hanging.
- Levels 3 and 4 play like a casual player: they take free pieces and spot simple threats.
- Levels 5 and 6 look a few moves ahead and punish loose pieces. A good test for club players.
- Levels 7 and 8 think for a few seconds per move and rarely blunder.
Stuck? Hint shows which piece the computer would move, and Take back undoes your last move. The computer runs in your browser, so it works offline once the page has loaded.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes, every level, with no sign-up and no limit on games.
How strong is level 8?
Strong enough to beat most casual players. It searches several moves deep for up to four seconds per move. It is not a grandmaster-strength engine, which keeps the games fun.
Can I play black?
Yes. Choose Black or Random under You play; the board turns so your pieces are at the bottom.
